What to Include in Guest’s Welcome Bags

Welcome bags are a great way to greet the guests who come to your weddings. It shows your happiness in seeing them at your wedding and act as a token of appreciation for their presence. No matter if you are ready to splurge or go creative and spend less, welcome bags have become the new ‘must’ in the weddings. But aren’t the same old welcome bags boring? Spice up your wedding bags with the following ideas and leave your mark with versatile wedding bags!

Something handmade:

Before focusing on what to include ‘inside’ the bags, look for what you can do to let the bags speak for itself. Go for a handmade bag made of cotton, jute or any other comfortable material and personalize it on the outside which reminds them of your wedding. Instead of the same old ‘Thank you for coming’ which literally makes it unusable for regular purposes, go for something quirky so that they can also use those bags in public.

Something sweet:

You can never go wrong with something sweet! Every beautiful occasion starts with a sweet and you can include a long-lasting sweet inside the welcome bag that they can munch on later. Don’t put in the usual wedding sweets; instead, opt for something that pacifies the craving. The most obvious choice would be some good chocolate. You can also go for unique sweets that are a specialty of the locals and pack it in such a way that it is easy to eat without getting one’s fingers all smudged up.

Something fresh:

You can include some fresh fruits in the bag, but it does seem so normal, doesn’t it? Instead of going for the usual fruits, you can pick out some special fruits and throw in an assorted packet of nuts and dry fruits for a wholesome combination. Go for special fruits like litchi, strawberry, etc that isn’t among the normal fruit that you usually get in the local market.

Something personalized:

A personalized note could triumph the purpose of the welcome bag. Include a heartfelt message that is quite personal, thanking them for gracing their presence. If there are more ceremonies to follow, you can also add an itinerary to it detailing where and when the special functions will be hosted. If you have a lot of traditional functions that is quite unknown to most of your guests, you can also detail out the purpose of the function and what can be expected from it.

Something themed:

If you are having a themed wedding, then look no more! You can come up with innovative ideas to incorporate the essence of your theme into the welcome bags. Add a touch of your theme to your welcome bags too! If it is a beach wedding, you can add a few items that will be useful for the guests later or if you have a flower-themed wedding, include beautiful flowers in your welcome bag.

Something liquid:

Of course, nothing is complete without a drink. It’s a great way to get the wedding started with a neat drink in a pretty bottle. You can add an alcoholic or a non-alcoholic beverage inside the wedding bag. If you are going for something sublime and general, add a bottle of lemon juice or a carbonated drink. You can even have a mixture of a few drinks in the bags and distribute them according to the people.

Something local:

In case you are having a destination wedding, you can add a few dashes of local flavors in it. It may be a local sweet, a local artifact or a souvenir from the local area. A local touch will serve as a reminder of your beautiful destination and act as a memento of the place.
